MQA Quarterly Performance Report

MEDICAL QUALITY ASSURANCE | FY 2022-23 QUARTERLY PERFORMANCE REPORT 1 06 Sections 456.069 and 465.017, Florida Statutes, grant MQA the authority to inspect the procedures and conditions of pharmacies such as proper signage, staffing, policies and procedures, and dispensing practices to ensure facilities meet the standard of practice prior to opening or continuing operating. MQA conducts pharmacy inspections following certain qualifying events such as the application for a new facility, a change in location or ownership, routine regulatory compliance, and when investigating complaints. New pharmacies are required to undergo an inspection prior to the issuance of a facility license. The average time to complete a pharmacy inspection has remained under 10 days for over five fiscal years, which is a result consistently better than the target goal (Figure 4).
