Page 8 francisco m. granda, dmd, ms, md OUR HEROES Dr. Francisco M. Granda, DMD, MS, MD has made service to his country and his profession a lifetime endeavor. He served in the United States Air Force for over 25 years and retired with the rank of Colonel. During his active duty service, Dr. Granda was awarded numerous medals for meritorious achievement. He is a Gulf War veteran. Dr. Granda completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Air Force Hospital, Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxil- lofacial Surgery and possesses both dental and medical degrees, as well as a Master of Science degree in pharmacology. He has served the dental profession for over 41 years, and is licensed in Florida and Texas. Dr. Granda divides his time between his private practice in oral surgery in Miami and his position as Ad- junct Associate Professor and Chair of Oral Surgery at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, Hialeah Campus. There he lectures on multiple topics related to oral & maxillofacial surgery. He is also an American Heart Association-certified instructor of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training. Dr. Granda has served as an expert witness/reviewer for the Florida Department of Health for many years. He also performs anesthesia inspections for the department’s Board of Dentistry. Dr. Granda holds memberships in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
