MQA Q1 2014 - 2015

This measure calculates the average number of days from the date an application is deemed qualified to

the date a license is issued. This measures all applications for licensure and registration for health care

professions under the Florida Department of Health that were not cancelled or generated in error.

To improve the time to issue a license to qualified applicants, the Bureau of Health Care Practitioner

Regulation is reviewing and analyzing all aspects of the application process. A team of application experts

was assembled and one application was targeted for changes in each board office. That process will now

be applied to all professions, and the results will be monitored. Also, a Six Sigma project was undertaken

during the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2013-2014 and first two quarters of fiscal year 2014-2015 to review

the licensure process for the Bureau and to apply measures to reduce the time it takes to issue a license to a

qualified applicant.
