One of MQA’s core business functions is ensuring the safety of the citizens and visitors of Florida through the enforcement of the regulatory
laws and rules for health care practitioners. MQA has a team dedicated to receiving, reviewing and investigating consumer complaints made
against a health care provider. All complaints received by the Department are treated equally and reviewed thoroughly. MQA investigators
followed up on thousands of complaints against licensed health care providers and completed 5,792 investigations this fiscal year.
In addition, the average number of days to complete an inspection for a new pharmacy decreased by nearly 30 percent.
